Tulip Radio is a not-for-profit company that exists through the generosity of volunteers.

In return, we invest in our volunteers by teaching them the skills they needs to present and produce radio shows for the local community.

This includes offering training opportunities to pupils at local schools and we have recently been celebrating the success of three volunteers from the Sir John Gleed School in Spalding.

Joshua Baldwin joined us as a trainee presenter in January 2013 before he was appointed head boy of the school. Josh was later joined by two of his fellow pupils.

Freddie Palmer initially helped out on the Saturday sports show on Tulip Radio but has now started presenting shows as well.

Benjamin Mason-Foster has joined the tech team, where he has been getting to grips with our programming software.

It has been a pleasure to see the progress these young men have made during their time at Tulip.

Joshua has found that volunteering at Tulip Radio has increased his confidence and will help him move towards his hoped-for career in the performing arts.

Freddie has increased his technical knowledge and built his confidence through his work at Tulip while Ben has learned a lot about the technical skills involved in media production.
