Forty-four tractor enthusiasts set off on a marathon course, 26.2 miles, in aid of Moulton Mill.

Organiser Paul Beecham said: “Although it’s a marathon, it’s not so tiring for us.”

It’s the eighth running of the event and, together with a raffle, it raised exactly £900 for the mill.

Paul said: “Moulton Bulb Company supports us all the way – they donate the field every year and the parking places.”

All of the raffle prizes were donated by local businesses.

Paul said: “We want to thank them for their support.”

He said the number of tractors entered was down on previous years, chiefly he believes because some of the regulars were busy in the fields.

But one determined participant, Shaun Dennington, came from the far side of Skegness, driving his Muir-Hill all the way there and back.

Paul works for Moulton Bulb Company but he has his own tractor, a grey Fergie T20, which he bought about ten years ago.

As well as the participants, there were around 20 supporters who turned up on the day to check out the wide variety of tractors taking part.
