Shingle on the tower of Christ Church, Gedney Dawsmere, has been reinstated following years of woodpecker damage that left holes and exposed timbers to the weather.

Father Jonathan Sibley said £3,000 for the work came via parish councils from a wind farm fund and it is the first renovation since the church was built in the 1850s.
He said the work is a fitting memorial to former churchwarden, Mick Bills, who cared for the church for more than 20 years.
