‘Tour de Midlands’ will raise charity cash

HSBC Commercial Bank employees in the Midlands are following the lead of Bradley Wiggins and co and getting on their bikes to compete in the ‘Tour de Midlands’ with the aim of raising over £5,000 for charity.

The nine centres that comprise HSBC’s Midlands Commercial region will cycle a combined 700 miles on exercise bikes within six hours, which is the equivalent of cycling around the nine commercial centres twice, with the centre completing their stage in the quickest time being crowned the ‘Tour de Midlands’ winner.

Half of the money raised will go to HSBC’s Midlands regional charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, and the remainder will be split between the chosen charity of each specific centre. The nominated charities for mid Lincolnshire and the Fens are St Barnabas Hospice and the Sue Ryder Hospice.

Around 200 HSBC Commercial Bank employees will take part in the event on August 31 and each Centre will be using as many as their staff as possible.
