Total from Oxfam race night

CASH raised on behalf of Spalding’s Oxfam shop at a race night last month has already winged its way to help communities in some of the world’s poorest developing countries.

Local ‘punters’ at the one-off fundraiser organised by businessman Michael Moran contributed to raising a grand total of £2,225.

Spalding Oxfam shop manager Rita Nottidge said: “It’s a marvellous amount and we have sent it through Oxfam Unwrapped to repair a classroom (£1,429), buy a share in a bore hole (£394), and buy water buckets with the rest.”
