Spalding’s cycle action group, Pedals, is inviting cyclists of all ages to take part in their ride to Crowland on Sunday.

Cyclists will meet at The Vista car park, near St Mary and St Nicolas Church, at 2.30pm and then set off for a leisurely ride.

Pedals member Roger Smith said the aim is to celebrate the joys of cycling and it’s definitely not a race.

The ride has been organised to coincide with Bike Week.

Mr Smith said: “We are going along quiet roads, such as Deeping High Bank, and it is a leisurely ride.

“It isn’t a race, it isn’t a time trial – if anyone wants to go fast they will leave the rest of us behind.”

There will be time to draw breath in Crowland – and perhaps have tea – before returning home.

Participants should take their own cycles and safety equipment. Organisers say anyone under the age of 13 years must be supervised by an adult. The ride, including the return journey, is about 20 miles.
