A “part of the furniture” at The Vine Inn in Spalding was remembered with a special night.

Landlady Sue Millar organised the memorial night for Nick Pettit, who died of cancer a year earlier, raising £1,128.47 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sue said she had a buffet, a raffle with a lot of donated prizes, Elvis impersonator Pete Webb and local band Weed Bus, put together for the night by Matthew Aylett, normally lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter with The Offshore Rivers.

Sue said: “Nick was a regular at the pub. He was basically part of the furniture and a lovely man.” • With the cheque are (from left) Matthew Aylett, Nick’s daughter Emma Pettit, Sue Millar, Nick Hanson from Macmillan and Nick’s widow Marie Pettit. SG101114-301TW
