A couple from Park Avenue have won the coveted Spalding in Bloom Best Front Garden trophy for 2015.
It is the second time Terry and Judy Wing have won, having taken first place in the 2013 competition.
The awards are supported by the Free Press and Spalding Guardian and sponsored by Birchgrove Garden Centre, where the winners were announced on Saturday.
They received a trophy, certificate and £50 in Birchgrove garden vouchers. Second place with a certificate and £25 worth of Birchgrove vouchers was Anthony Whitcombe, of Churchill Drive. And third was Justyna Nowak of Rembrant Way who also took a certificate and £10 worth of vouchers.
Also attending the presentation were judge Mike Goodge of the Birchgrove nursery team and Geoff Hoare, past vice-president of Spalding and South Holland in Bloom and a supporter of the Bloom competition for over 25 years.
George Slinger, chairman of Birchgrove Garden Centre and past chairman of Spalding and South Holland in Bloom, a former East Midands in Bloom judge and founder committee member of East Midlands in Bloom was also present.
Presenting the prizes was Coun Angela Newton, chairman of Spalding in Bloom.
Mr and Mrs Wing are now invited to enter next year’s Frank Constable Best Front Garden Competition run by the East Midlands in Bloom Committee in 2016.
