Entries in the 14th annual South Holland Open Arts Exhibition will be unveiled tomorrow.
The exhibition aims to showcase the best work created by professional and amateur artists who live and work in South Holland and the surrounding region.
More than 80 exhibits have been selected from the mass of entries by artists aged 14 plus.
A spokesman for South Holland District Council, which organises the exhibition, said the tough task of selecting the entries to be used was made even harder this year due to the high standard.
Rachel Rowett, arts and culture development officer for the council, said: “The standard of entries was very high and there was an increase in the number too.
“For the first time, this year there will be a small trophy awarded to the artist of the exhibit which wins the public vote.”
Coun Nick Worth, portfolio holder for community, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to stage this superb annual exhibition.
“There is such a wide range of media and subjects exhibited that we can promise something for everyone.
“Entrance is free and we encourage everyone to spend a few minutes to come and see the very impressive scope and ability of artists of all ages who are on our doorstep.”
Opening times for the exhibition are: Wednesday, February 26 1pm-6pm; Thursday, February 27, 10am-noon; Friday, February 28, 10am-3pm; Saturday, March 1, 10am-7.30pm; Monday, March 3, 10am-5pm; Tuesday, March 4, 10am-3pm; Thursday, March 6, 10am-5pm.
