THERE were an awful lot of wrinkled fingers and toes around the world on Saturday – and that includes the Spalding district – as a total of 5,107 swimmers took part in the Rotary Global Swimarathon.

Locally, the Rotary Club of South Holland persuaded 109 swimmers to complete 100 metres during one hour, raising £718 for the Rotary International Polio Campaign.

Swimmers were Rotarians and members of South Lincs Competitive Swimming Group who all completed four lengths in the world record bid to get as many people swimming at the same time.
