OLYMPIC hopeful Chloe Hannam and her friends at South Lincolnshire Competitive Swimming Club are the latest to benefit from a slice of council cash.
The Spalding club has received £1,100 after 22 councillors each contributed £50 from their designated member’s budget. The money will pay for the club’s swimming championships and equipment for Chloe (15).
Coun Angela Newton said: “This is an opportunity to help provide something for young people and give them a positive focus.”
The club championships involve six galas from October to December in which members can qualify for the county championships. The cash will also fund a guest speaker at the club presentation evening.
A club spokesman said: “Chloe Hannam is one of our most successful swimmers with much talent and the potential to go a long way.
“She has won medals at the national championships since the age of 11 and is currently on the ASA Talent Development Programme. The money donated will help Chloe enormously in the future.”
