Sutton maidens bowled ’em over

LONG Sutton Primary School was victorious as year six girls from across the region came together to battle it out in the School Games Cricket Competition.

School Games organiser Rupert Gibson coordinated the competition which was hosted by Spalding Grammar School and its sports leaders and funded by Spalding High School.

Teams played a series of kwik cricket league matches in the morning and then played off for their final positions in the afternoon.

The girls all had a great time, all showed massive improvement throughout the day and some excellent cricket was played.

Final positions were: 1st Long Sutton A, 2nd Spalding Parish C of E Day School, 3rd Bourne Westfield, 4th Surfleet Seas End, 5th Weston St Mary, 6th Long Sutton B.

Long Sutton A will now represent South Lincolnshire in the County School Games on June 27.
