It’s A Knockout, fun fair, live music – and a marriage proposal – made for a fun day out at Bakkavor’s successful Party in the Park.

During the day a dozen teams of the firm’s employees battled it out with inflatables and bubbles in the It’s a Knockout challenge, with the More Greens team from the Spalding Distribution Centre taking the crown.

Families and friends were able to enjoy the other attractions, such as food and stalls, before the evening was turned over to compere comedian Ajay, who introduced music from local bands and artists with a firework finale.

During the event, which raised a total of £4,000 for Help for Heroes, there was surprise proposal.

Matthew Mahabadi went down on one knee to ask girlfriend and fellow Bakkavor employee Tanya Booth to marry him.

Much to the delight of onlookers she said “yes”.

A spokesman said the event “went very well”.
