Needy people in Holbeach can turn to the town’s foodbank after 20 trolleys of food were donated by generous shoppers.

Volunteers from Holbeach Community Larder collected donations from shoppers at Tesco in Boston Road South, Holbeach.

About 20 trolleys of food were collected to give out to people when the foodbank is open at the Reading Rooms, Church Street, every Friday from 11am until 2pm.

Jane Francis, administrator for Holbeach Community Larder, said: “Holbeach Community Larder was set up last September and provides food parcels for people experiencing hardship.

“Their circumstances can range from low income and debt to benefit delays to homelessness.

“In addition, we run a Community Cafe every Friday when a two-course lunch is provided to those in need.

“This project is fully supported by the community and the generosity of people enables us to serve to the vulnerable in Holbeach.”
