A recent survey found that First Contact – a service co-ordinated by Lincolnshire County Council to support over-60s – is a resounding success with its customers.
First Contact provides over 60s with free advice and support, to help them stay independent and safe in their homes.
Residents are asked to fill in a simple checklist to identify issues they may need help and advice on. These include money and benefits, home and fire safety, housing, heating, falls prevention, social care, healthy lifestyles, transport and domestic help.
Through the survey, 176 customers were contacted, with 88 per cent saying the services they’d received were ‘very helpful’ or ‘helpful’ in helping them to feel safer in their own homes.
