A Holbeach man has completed a Three Peaks challenge and a three-day cycling and running marathon in memory of his dad.

Nick Franklin, of Edinburgh Walk, has raised more than £4,400 for research into heart disease.

He said: “In 2009 my father, Graham, was a very fit and healthy 53-year-old.

“He was very active and led a healthy lifestyle and did not smoke.

“Hopefully, my challenge is big enough to generate more publicity and support.

“I could not have achieved this total or completed my challenge without the fantastic support of people in the local community.”

The Three Peaks took him 23 hours, cycling 140 miles from Spalding to Southwold 12 hours and 95 miles from Southwold to Hunstanton nine hours. Running 35 miles from Dersingham to Holbeach took seven hours 44 minutes.
