STUDENT nurses have returned to Pilgrim Hospital after being suddenly withdrawn by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the summer.
The NMC has reviewed and approved the audits of training provided to students at the Boston hospital and agreed for them to return.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) confirmed midwifery students returned in January, and the first two phases of adult nursing students have returned this week.
Tracy Pilcher, deputy director of Nursing and Patient Services, said: “It’s a real boost to see the students return. We have worked closely with the universities and the NMC to ensure we provide a high quality learning environment and are really pleased that following assessments they have allowed them to return.”
New systems have been developed to monitor the quality of training.
