ELEVEN level one students from Spalding’s South Lincolnshire College had a close up look at professional motor servicing with a tour of the town’s EMG Ford workshop.

Course tutor Mandla Ndhlovu said the students study theory at Red Lion Quarter and have a workshop in Cresswell Close, Pinchbeck, but the visit to EMG showed them what it is like in a real life working environment.

He said: “The learners all hope to have careers within the motor trade once their studies are complete. South Lincolnshire College will be working closely with EMG Motor Group to try and help develop the learners’ future career opportunities.”

Mr Ndhlovu worked for EMG before switching to a career in teaching.

EMG service manager Andy Back showed students around the St John’s Road workshop – and outlined what is expected of apprentices in their work.
