Spalding School of Dance may succeed in its second bid to build a new studio at Frenfields, Rangell Gate, Low Fulney.

Council planning officers are recommending approval of an amended plan for the 570sqm building.

Councillors rejected a planning application for the studio last month, but now the dance school has dropped its plan to include a one-bed flat for a groundsman or maintenance person and submitted additional information.

Claire Patman, from Spalding School of Dance, recently told our sister paper, The Spalding Guardian, that there is nowhere big enough in Spalding to house the business

She said: “This is something we desperately need as a business as we have outgrown our location.”

If councillors approve the plans on Wednesday night, the building will house three dance studios, changing areas, toilets, an entrance foyer, sales area, reception and workshop/prop and costume stores.
