STAFF at a Spalding charity shop will be taking a starlit stroll at the weekend to help raise cash.

Paul Redford, manager of the Sue Ryder charity book shop in The Crescent, his deputy Nicola Hards and her husband Iain, as well as volunteer Nikki Cox, will be pulling on their walking boots on Saturday evening for the Sue Ryder Strlight Hike – a 10k walk around parts of Peterborough to raise funds for the charity’s Thorpe Hall hospice.

The trio are urging as many people as possible to offer them sponsorship to help the hospice continue its vital work looking after people with terminal illnesses.

Paul said: “Sue Ryder has held walks in the past but they have only been open to women, so I jumped at the chance to join in with this one as it is obviously a cause very close to our hearts.”

The Peterborough events is one of eight events across the country.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Paul, Nicola and Ian’s efforts can do so by leaving their name and telephone number at the shop before or after the walk.
