GENEROUS staff at Bakkavor Pizza in Holbeach St Marks did not have to look far to find a good cause to donate cash to this year.

The factory’s Site Employee Forum has handed over a £5,000 donation to the Respite Association after selecting it as their chosen charity for 2011.

The Respite Association, which has an office in the Holbeach St Marks Community Association building next door to Bakkavor Pizza, raises funds to provide short-term assistance in funding respite care for disabled, sick, elderly or terminally ill people.

The charity is currently collecting money to buy and fully furnish a static caravan in Hunstanton.

Bakkavor site HR manager Claire Wheatley said: “It was an absolute pleasure to contribute to something so worthwhile.

“The SEF team were astounded when they first met The Respite Association at the beginning of this year, as none of them had quite realised that this work went on right on the doorstep of the factory.

“We have a number of other initiatives taking place this year, including the community fun day and a car wash, to ensure we can support them further. We can’t wait to see the finished holiday home.”
