Firefighters across South Holland will be swapping their hoses for sponges in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for charity this month.
Car washes will be set up in Donington, Long Sutton and Spalding, as well as Billingborough, in aid of The Firefighters Charity.
In all, 13 fire stations across the county are taking part in the National Car Wash, the charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year to help current and retired firefighters and their families.
Mick Green, assistant chief fire officer for Lincolnshire, said: “Our staff are really rising to the challenge to work hard and top the £2,000 total raised from car washes for The Firefighters Charity in 2013.”
The first car wash is outside Barclays Bank in Market Place, Long Sutton, on Saturday March 15 from 9am until 1pm.
There will also be car washes at Donington Fire Station, High Street, on Saturday March 22 from 9.30am until 3pm and on at the same day at Billingborough Fire Station, High Street, between 10am and 3pm.
You can also have your car washed by firefighters in Spalding at Homebase car park, Westlode Street, Spalding, on Saturday March 29 from 10am until 4pm.
