St Laurence Church at Surfleet looked spectacular during its three-day Christmas Tree Festival, which ended on Sunday with a candlelit service.

Upwards of 25 local and national charities and benevolent associations were represented either directly or through businesses or individuals who kindly sponsored trees.

Our picture shows stewards Clare Templeman and Wendy Houghton admiring the trees.

Vicar the Rev David Sweeting described the festival as “a corker”.

He said: “We had a fantastic time and we were very well supported by local people.”

The church catering team served more than 70 hot lunches.

Among organisations with trees displayed were Spalding Gateway Club, the Callum Pite Smile Charity and The British Heart Foundation.
