Spalding woman took too many tablets

A Spalding woman died from an overdose of anti-depressants, an inquest heard.

Nicola Allen (37), of Holyrood Walk, had been fighting depression for years before she was found dead at her home on September 19.

Her sister Paula told an inquest at Spalding Magistrates' Court on Friday, December 19, that Nicola had been trying to give up anti-depressant tablets, but it was making her poorly.

She said that her sister had been looking more healthy and there was no indication she was contemplating taking her own life.

Friend Valerie Osborne said she had returned home from work on September 19 to find a letter from Nicola asking her to look after her son in the event of her death, which was taken to mean she had planned her overdose.

Coroner Maureen Taylor recorded a verdict of suicide.
