She was an active member of Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society and more latterly St Nicholas Players for many years, taking part in several productions at Spalding’s South Holland Centre.

She was deputy Spalding Flower Queen in 1978 and actually carried out a lot of the engagements during her year of office.

She met Trevor and they worked together building up rounds for UK Mail before building a new home in The Algarve.

Karen’s father Alan Porter ran AP Auctions and AP Sales in Spalding with long time partner Angela Newton, who he married last year.
