AN adventurous trio from a Spalding travel agent are teaming up to complete a gruelling 26-mile hike for charity.

After previously taking part in an abseil and a sky dive the colleagues, Rachel Clifton (30), Cheryl Sullivan (22) and Roxanne Murfitt (20), from Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel branch, are keeping their feet firmly on terra firma by walking from Avebury to Stonehenge walk in aid of Help for Heroes, the firm’s charity of the year for 2011.

Assistant manager Rachel said: “As a team we’ve taken on fundraising for charity before and when we saw this walk we thought it would be a good chance to challenge ourselves again.

“It’s nice to do it together as we all jolly each other along and keep each other going.

“The landscape will also help – it’s a really beautiful part of the world and the views across the Salisbury Plain will inspire us I’m sure.”

The team has a training schedule from Help for Heroes which means they will build up to five hour walks over the next few months and undertake a 17-mile walk at Rutland Water in the weeks before the challenge on June 26.

Rachel added: “Training is getting much easier now the evenings are lighter and the sun is coming out.

“We’ve also been delighted with the support of our customers who are helping is to raise money for such a good cause. It makes it all worth while.”
