Spalding trains halted by report of “person on the line”

Trains to and from Spalding were halted for around two hours yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon following a report that someone was on the line.

A Network Rail spokesperson said today: “At around 15:40 yesterday we received reports of a person on the line between Spalding and Sleaford.

“All trains in the area were stopped; one train was held at Sleaford station and one was held at Spalding station.

“Police attended the incident, along with Network Rail workers and normal working was resumed just before 17:30. We apologise to any passengers who experienced disruption.”

The spokesman confirmed no one was hurt in the incident.
