A team of six Year 10 Spalding High School students were on cloud nine after attending the International Space Challenge in Nottingham.

The challenge is a cross-curricular event designed to highlight the opportunities for careers based on the combination of languages and science.

The girls’ challenge was to design a smart and practical Space Hotel that was full of innovative ideas. To make the challenge even harder, the students had to work in a foreign language, culminating with a presentation in this language to the European investors.

Putting science and French skills to the test, while learning marketing skills, the girls ended the day winning the language prize and were praised for excellent teamwork.
