The Sir John Gleed School Parents & Friends Association (PFA) Talented Student Bursary has been awarded to athlete Lee Addison.
The PE Department nominated Lee for the award after his extremely successful year of competition.
Lee recently took part in the National Schools long jump championships, finishing third.
A school spokesman said: “His commitment and determination to succeed alongside his talent made him an outstanding choice for the award this year. The PFA is pleased to have supported Lee and is looking forward to presenting the award next year to another talented student.”
Students are nominated by the teaching staff, who present their case for the award to principal Will Scott.
The spokesman continued: “Exciting changes are in place at the school and the PFA will become Friends of Spalding Academy from September.
“The group is actively working over the summer holiday to progress its Woodland Peace Garden project and organise other fundraising events to support the students at the school.”
There is an open meeting on September 14 to welcome new students and families.
