Spalding’s place at the heart of a food producing area is being celebrated this weekend.

Spalding and South Holland Festival of Food & Drink will take place both days in and around St Mary & St Nicolas Church Hall in The Vista (10am to 4pm, free entry, programmes £1).

There will be up to 40 food and drink stalls, live cookery demonstrations, real ales plus live entertainment.

In St Mary & St Nicolas Church there will be cream teas, parachuting teddy bears and a display of knitted churches.

In Ayscoughfee Gardens (2-4pm), there will be family activities, such as have-a-go circus skills, wacky races, fun sports, games, arts and crafts, giant tortoises and live music.
