Spalding’s first wedding festival takes place at Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens on Sunday.
Organised by Spalding-based Fairytale Wedding Festival, the event aims to take the stress out of planning the big day – and add in some fun.
Proprietors Vicky and Shaun Lord have been running the business for three years, and have previously organised wedding shows at Ayscoughfee Hall and Whaplode Manor at Saracen’s Head.
Vicky says what makes this event unique is the outdoor festival aspect to it.
She said: “Spalding hasn’t had this kind of outdoor wedding festival before.
“We also have a wedding welly wanging competition in aid of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) where people throw a welly into a bucket to win a prize.”
The free-to-enter event draws together businesses offering all kinds of wedding products and services, from wedding dresses to hair style advice.
However, it’s also going to be a lot of fun, with a live band and singer, vintage garden tea party, garden games, entertainers and magician, plus a kids’ zone with bouncy castle and a face painter.
There is also a bar, hog roast, hot drinks and cakes.
Vicky and Shaun have taken the precaution of organising both shade and rain cover.
The wedding festival is open from 10.30am to 4pm and free ‘queue jump’ tickets are available from 07595 217743.
