Spalding’s Crystal Charity Ball has now raised a fantastic £40,000 in four years for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation after Saturday’s event made £12,000.

This year’s event, once again held at the Springfields events centre, was a record-breaker and lead committee member Kelly Beba is delighted.

“I can’t believe we raised such a wonderful sum of money. All our supporters, sponsors and guests have been so generous.

“We featured a new band this year, The Capricorns, and disco from DJ, Shaun Neal, who both went down a storm with our guests.”

Some 445 people attended the ball, enjoying games, a raffle, auction, photos, a three-course meal and live music.

“We have had a lot of great feedback from the night, it seems everyone really enjoyed themselves,” added Kelly.

Fellow committee member Debbie Craft added: “We were especially grateful to a number of local organisations this year who sponsored specific parts of the evening.

“It seems people are really keen to get involved. In fact we already have a list of guests who are asking for their tables again next year.”
