A youngster from Gosberton Risegate fighting leukaemia was the inspiration for a
charity classic car show event in Spalding.

Lucas Devaney (3) was the special guest of organisers Sean and Jason Kibble who hosted the event at Ye Olde White Horse in Churchgate.

Sean and Jason put the event on for Lucas, a relative of theirs who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in March.

The show featured 25 classic cars, including a Rolls Royce, Austin 7 and a Robin Reliant fire engine, and so far, thanks to other charity events as well this year, £736 has been raised for Children With Cancer.

Sean also did a sponsored leg wax.

Jason said: “It was the first time we’d ever done it and it took a lot of planning, and it was hard to get people to come.”

The cause is very important to Sean and Jason and they feel “more people should give more time to help these charities” .
