Shoppers buying their daily newspapers and sweets from a Spalding newsagent have been getting use to seeing old faces in new surroundings.
Classic News in Sheep Market now has a leaner, brighter look after brothers-in-law Abbas Laxmidhar and Asgar Vanparekh took over the shop two weeks ago.
Abbas and Asghar, who also run Spalding News in Market Place, have taken over the newsagent from Muhammedi Yusuf who retired last month.
“Mr Yusuf had the shop for at least eight years but he wanted to sell up due to the poor health of a family member,” Abbas said.
“So when we heard that the shop was available, we met Mr Yusuf and talked about taking the business over.
“The regulars are really excited about the change and the fact that we’ve given it a new look to make it more appealing to customers.”
