Spalding-based food manufacturer Bakkavor donated £3,750 to two local causes last week following a successful summer employee raffle.

The company gave £1,000 to three local Royal British Legion branches – Spalding, Pinchbeck and Long Sutton – and £750 to Pinchbeck Football Club.

The cheques were presented at the Bakkavor site to the chairman of each RBL branch and to Karen Withers who represented the football club.

Terry Moore, chairman of the Staff Shop Committee at Bakkavor, said: “We wanted to donate the proceeds from our raffle to the three Royal British Legion branches close to our business operations as we believe they play a fantastic role in supporting ex-servicemen. We are also keen supporters of local sports clubs that struggle to raise vital funds.”
