A district councillor from Spalding is taking on the national Three Peaks challenge with two business associates.
Harry Drury, who represents the Spalding St Mary’s ward, will climb Britain’s highest peaks for charity.
Harry, who runs Thomas Campbell estate agents in Boston, will be joined by Thea Cox and Dean Grainger of Thea Cox Mortgages, also in Boston.
Their journey begins today and ends on Monday, with all money raised going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Harry said: “The challenge is going to be one of the most physically challenging I have taken part in to date, but I am sure that it will be nothing in comparison to what the people we are raising money for go through.”
The challenge involves climbing mountains in locations across the United Kingdom – Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland.
Harry added: “I do not know a single person who has not been affected in some way by cancer. It does not just have a physical impact on a person, but a mental impact on them and indeed the people around them. It changes everything.”
To make sure that everyone can track their journey and keep up-to-date with the group’s progress, Thea, Dean and Harry will be keeping photo and video diaries throughout the challenge. The team will be sharing their posts on their respective companies’ Facebook pages.
