A charity dinner held at and sponsored by The Woodlands Hotel in Spalding raised £1,020 for the Spalding and District Branch of Parkinson’s UK on Sunday.

Vivienne Priestman, branch chairman, said: “The large amount of money will benefit the branch and its members. This huge amount of money could not have been achieved without the kind generosity of Ambrish Chandarana and staff.

“The branch would also like to thank one of our members Bernie Brothwell, who has raised the staggering amount of £31,293 by organising sponsored golf days in Boston over eight consecutive years.”

The money has gone to Parkinson’s UK for research.

Over the course of the day, three sittings took place and were accompanied by music by Just the Two of Us.

Each two course meal cost £10 and all proceeds went to the branch.
More than 100 people attended.
