The Boys’ Brigade 2nd Spalding Company held an awards and promotions ceremony in 1998.

After devotions made by the Rev David Curran, the company was inspected by George Austin, vice-president of the South Lincolnshire Battalion and former captain for 33 years of the 1st Spalding Company.

A programme of entertainment followed, with figure marching, games and sketches by the Anchor boys, the junction section. Mr Austin presented awards, including Boy of the Year award which went to James Hemmant.
