They have been doing the Seaside Rock and making sea monsters at Spalding Baptist Church holiday club this week.
Run by children’s and young people’s worker Debbie Clarke, the week-long holiday club is something the church has been doing for 20 or possibly 30 years.
Administrator Judy Taylor said some children attended every day, while others came for a day or two.
She said: “On the first day we had about 50 and that’s about right in terms of what we normally have.”
That day’s activities on the Seaside Rock theme – Peter means rock – included a quiz, with youngsters aged five to 11 building parts of a lighthouse when they answered questions correctly.
Judy added: “They are also making sea creature mobiles and sea monsters, using lots of cardboard boxes.
“We also have singing and action songs. We have a lot of adult and teenage helpers. It’s good fun and everybody thoroughly enjoys it.”
A beach party for 10-14s with a barbecue was also planned, as well as a murder mystery for young people aged 15 and above.
