Pocahontas stole people’s hearts at this year’s Centenary Exhibition by Spalding Arts & Crafts Society.
The pastel painting by Bev Healey (above) was the overwhelming favourite in the People’s Choice Award.
Society publicity secretary Maggie Goodsell said a record number of people voted in the awards.
In second place was Mo Teeuw’s oil painting of the Norfolk Broads.
The society exhibited 100 paintings in the Geest Gallery at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum in Spalding to celebrate its 100th year.
The society grew out of painting as occupational therapy for injured World War One soldiers in Johnson Hospital.
