The organisation’s president Terry Wells handed over a cheque for £500 to LIVES coordinator Nigel Perry at the Lincolnshire Poacher in Spalding on Monday. Nigel, a meat salesman and association member, spoke about the equipment the money would help to buy.
The cash was raised from a raffle at the association’s annual dinner held in October and attended by 114 people. The dinner has been held for about 20 years and Terry says in previous years, when there were more butcher’s shops in the district, the event raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
