The Easter bunny put in an appearance at Littletots Parent & Toddler Group at Gedney Hill, much to the delight of the youngsters enjoying an egg hunt on Thursday.

Group leader Donna Ivatt said the event was an end-of-term treat for the children, paid for thanks to a donation from Kerr Page at Gedney Hill Golf Club.

She said: “We meet once a week in the Memorial Hall and we decided to give the children a treat. We had an Easter egg hunt and the bunny came along to help with that.”

There are normally around 30 regulars, but Donna says there were 45 children hugging the bunny, bouncing on the castle, having their faces painted and hunting chocolate eggs.

She said: “We had a real fun morning. I kept it a secret. I just let the parents know last week and told the children we had some nice surprises – something bouncy, something fluffy and lots of chocolate. It was really nice to do something different and be outside in the enclosed garden at the back of the hall.”
