Ten jobs have been saved at a Spalding firm where almost 50 jobs were under threat.

Last week it was announced that WR Refrigeration, which has a depot in Woolram Wygate, had gone into administration – leaving the future of 49 staff members in doubt.

But this week the administrators have announced the sale of a number of WR’s major contracts to Integral, one of the largest independent providers of property maintenance services in the UK.

The sale completed on Tuesday and the exact terms have been not been revealed, but a spokesman has confirmed that the deal will secure ten jobs in Spalding.

W R Refrigeration has its main office in Leicester with five depots across the country.

More than 600 jobs in total were said to be in danger after the firm went into administration following a period of difficult trading conditions.

The new deal with Integral will secure 255 jobs in total across the firm’s depots.

Eddie Williams, joint administrator, said: “We would like to thank both the customers and the company’s employees for their support over the past week, both in general and for this transaction.

“Our focus now is to continue to explore all options for the remaining parts of the business.”
