The men were all from the Holbeach and Suttons areas and the photograph had been taken at Brocklesby Camp, near Grimsby, where all six were in the 3rd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment.

They were: standing (from left) – Pte T Hammond, Holbeach Marsh; Pte R B Clark, Holbeach; Pte F G Cave, Long Sutton. Sitting were – Pte E W Snasdell, Gedney Drove End; Pte H J Jarrett, Fleet; and Pte F Caley, Long Sutton.
