There was lots going on at Spalding’s St John the Baptist Primary School during the weeks before half-term.
Year 1 brought their Teddies to school, where they learnt about the history of Teddies and how they got their names.
Years 5 and 6 entered hockey, athletics and netball tournaments, winning hockey with a 100 per cent record.
St John’s pupils attended an indoor athletics tournament at Bourne Grammar School, and took part in sports such as running, javelin, long jump, triple jump and chest push.
The school’s netball team braved the cold for an inter-schools tournament held at Spalding High School.
Reception have had lots of exciting visitors as they work on their ‘transport’ topic. They have seen a tractor, a fire engine and had a visit from Lollipop Lady Mrs Atkins.
Year 2 finished their Great Fire of London topic with a show to pupils and parents that they wrote themselves, telling the story of the fire with lots of songs and dancing.
