SIX fire engines were called into action to tackle a blaze at High Road in Whaplode in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two engines from Spalding, one from Holbeach, one from Long Sutton, one from Crowland and another from Kirton - plus a water carrier from Holbeach - all had to combat a fire at a home just after midnight.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue says the fire was caused by a bonfire that the homeowners thought had been put out.
It was said to have caused damage to several conifer trees, a shed, three dog kennels, a double garage and contents and kitchen roof.
There was also water damage to the kitchen and smoke damage to the whole house.
