Spalding’s new butchers shop has become the Midlands and East of England Butchers of the Year.

Simpsons has had great success this year, winning several awards including at the Lincolnshire Poacher awards for many their products.

Gary Simpson said: “Winning the butchers of the year title is really good news for us. The award goes on your business as a
whole, so it looks at your products, the presentation of your shop, your work with the community and future plans.”

This is the second year that the butchers shop has been awarded the much sought after title.

Gary said: “We’ve won it two years on the trot and we were put into the final three – out of the six regions in the competition – which is a massive achievement. We’d love to be named as the best in Britain one day.”

Simpsons opened in Spalding in October and has been well received by residents.

Gary said: “It’s been really busy in Spalding and we expect it will get even busier with Christmas coming up.

“We hope to start selling hot pies and pasties straight after Christmas and we hope that we will keep seeing old and new customers coming through the door.”
Gary has also shown his community spirit by generously agreeing to provide meat for the Christmas day meal for the lonely at the Ivo Day Centre in Spalding.
