A NEW generation of aspiring silver surfers picked up some computer know how in a short course at the Sir John Gleed School girls’ campus in Spalding.

The over 60s ICT courses used to be run by Age UK but the school has continued them with participants paying a nominal fee.

School networks manager Ray Wharrie, who led the course, said: “It is designed for people who have never used a computer before to get them through the basics.”

Courses are run for around a dozen people at a time and the latest ran for two hours over three mornings.
