Households in the Deepings and Bourne can sign up for a garden waste collection scheme running in the area throughout the spring and summer.

Operated by South Kesteven District Council (SKDC), the service attracted more than 28,500 members last year who paid an annual fee in return for an unlimited number of garden waste collections.

The scheme, which starts on April 1, even allows residents to take their green bins with them if they move house to an address within the South Kesteven district and then inform the council of their new address.

Coun Nick Craft, SKDC’s Executive Member for Environment, said: “Our ever popular garden waste collection service is easy to join, with regular collections of your green bin.

“Existing members of the scheme are now being contacted to remind them to take advantage of the service.

“However, non-members can join today and be ready to start gardening when spring is fully underway.”
