Singing star Kiki Dee is to lead an evening of free entertainment at a Bourne housing development.

The Croft, a Larkfleet Homes scheme for the over 55s, will host a night of music and entertainment from Kiki on Saturday.

The evening will start at 4pm when non-residents will be offered a tour of the showhomes and refurbished manor house on site.

At 5pm there will be a talk and questions and answers session with Kiki, who has had enormous success in the music and theatre industries and was once signed to the legendary Tamla Motown label.

There will be food and refreshments provided and a chance for guests to get autographs and photos with Kiki – before local Motown and soul band Motor City Vipers take to the stage to complete the evening.

To obtain free tickets, visit The Croft sales office, on North Road in Bourne. They will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Kiki is best known for her 1976 duet with Elton John, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, which went to Number One both in the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In 1993 she performed another duet with Elton John for his Duets album, a cover version of Cole Porter’s “True Love”, which reached Number Two in the UK.

Larkfleet managing director Karl Hick said: “We are very excited to be hosting this event at The Croft. It will really be a night of music and entertainment that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.”

n The Croft consists of 69 one and two-bedroom bungalows and two and three-bedroom chalets arranged around landscaped courtyards.

As part of the development, an historic manor house has been restored to its former glory and refurbished to form a communal ‘hub’ for residents.
